INSTRUCTIONS

In this assignment you use the following graphic organizer:

Step 1: Write a claim that answers the essential question at the top of the page. If you are struggling you can use the sentence starter below:

“Scientists decided to divide geologic time in the following three ways.”

Hint: Look at the evidence you collected on the graphic organizer you used when you completed the Geologic Timescale Discovery Activity

Step 2: Choose 4 pieces of evidence that support your claim. If you were in class we used the evidence from our card sort activity that we then wrote on posters in the hallway. If you were absent or are unable to access the posters you can use evidence from the Geologic Timescale Discovery Activity and the Earth’s Entire History Video. that we took notes on in class.

Step 3: In the reasoning box for each piece of evidence, explain why the evidence (event) you chose supports your claim.

Step 4: Put it all together now. Write a paragraph on the back of paper (if you were in class to get the paper) or on a separate sheet of notebook paper that answers the essential question.

 – Your paragraph should start with your claim. Then you need AT LEAST 4 sentences (one for each piece of evidence you chose). These sentences should give the evidence examples you chose and the reason they support your claim.

Step 5: Take a picture of the FRONT of your work sheet and a picture of your paragraph. Submit both to this assignment.
